Nakuru Envisioning Meeting

Located 160 kilometres from Nairobi, Nakuru city is the third-largest urban area in Kenya, home to over 570,000 individuals. It was elevated to city status in June 2021 and is currently undergoing significant infrastructure growth.

As we prepare for the 2025 Nakuru Citywide Mission, mobilising key stakeholders within the city was crucial.

The Rt. Rev. Anthony Mwaura, Diocesan Bishop of ACK Nakuru, graciously met with the AE team at his office, led by Rev. Captain Joel Soti and Mr. Williams Muchiri, the team shared impact stories and examples of past missions, highlighting the benefits of such a partnership in strengthening the larger body of Christ in Nakuru.

Bishop Mwaura expressed his support for the mission, stating, “The church has a mandate to reach not just those within our walls but also those who are yet to receive Christ. Evangelism should be a major focus point. I welcome AEE’s initiative and will share this with my team. I look forward to actualising this great commission in our city.”

The team also met with Ven. Joseph Thiong’o, Provost of ACK Good Shephard Cathedral, who echoed the bishop’s enthusiasm and pledged support for the preparation phase.

The Nakuru Pastors Fellowship, led by Pst. Alex Maina, met with the AE team at the Midland hotel. The interaction focused on getting to know the local pastors’ fellowships and exploring the formation of an initial committee for zone demarcation.

The feedback was positive, and the pastors invited the AE Kenya team back for a meeting in October to learn more about the mission and their potential roles.

The meetings yielded positive results, laying the groundwork for the Nakuru Citywide Mission in 2025.
