Missions update: Nakuru preparations.
On 20th of January, a team from AE Kenya, led by Mission Director Rev. Capt. Joel Soti, visited Nakuru to prepare for an upcoming city-wide evangelism mission. In the morning, the team met with Rev. Capt. Peterson Kamau, the newly appointed Anglican Diocesan Missions Director, at ACK Church of the Good Shepherd. We briefed him on the mission’s vision and progress, emphasizing collective resource mobilization through the broader Christian community in Nakuru. Rev. Capt. Kamau expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, particularly commending the home hosting module and the collaborative approach toward effective evangelism.
In the afternoon, the team met with 12 mission committee members, chaired by Rev. Joseph Njenga, Destiny connector Church. Agenda of the meeting was identification of 11 operational zones for stratified evangelism and logistical plans for events like Serve the City efforts, school ministries, leadership dinners, and social action initiatives. Recognizing the importance of training, the committee scheduled the first session on 11th-12th February 2025, to equip participants for the mission. These meetings reinforced the collaborative momentum and laid a solid foundation for the success of the Nakuru city-wide mission.
