Preservation Training for churches in preparation for the Nakuru city wide mission
Over two days, AE Kenya staff and associates conducted a comprehensive training program for over one hundred pastors and evangelists from various churches in Nakuru. This initiative, in partnership with Shareword Global, focused on “How to Evangelize Effectively.” The training took place at two locations: Abundant Life Gospel Church and PAG Church Nakuru, attracting clergy members, passionate evangelists, and ministers from more than thirty churches across the city. The training covered various methods and strategies for effective evangelism, emphasizing practical steps to engage individuals with the gospel.
The primary objective was to empower church leaders and evangelists with the tools and resources needed for impactful and purposeful outreach. One notable participant, Pastor Isaac Kimama of Victorious Gospel International Church of Kenya in Nakuru, shared his personal testimony and the positive impact the training had on him. Pastor Kimama’s journey, from being a non-believer who served a life sentence in prison to becoming a passionate evangelist, exemplifies transformation and God’s grace. He expressed how the training significantly improved his ability to share the gospel in prisons, schools, and on the streets.
“I am a living testimony of the power of the gospel,” he said. “I was not raised as a believer, and my choices led me to a life sentence in prison. While incarcerated, a group of missionaries shared the gospel with us. Over time, I listened and fell in love with the Savior they spoke of. That led me to give my life to Christ, and by God’s grace, I was granted parole. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to share the gospel whenever I can. My heart is especially drawn to prison ministry, as I understand the struggles and challenges faced by those incarcerated.” He went on to express his gratitude for the training, saying, “This training has opened my eyes to the fact that evangelism can be effortless and effective. The organizations have broken down the fundamentals of evangelism in such a clear and practical way, and I am confident that I will be a better evangelist going forward. The materials provided will also be invaluable in my ministry, particularly for prison outreach, school engagements, and street evangelism.” Pastor Kimama concluded by expressing his excitement for the future. “I did not expect to be so well-equipped through this training, and I am deeply grateful that my bishop allowed me to attend. I am now looking forward to the upcoming missions and what the Lord has in store for Nakuru. It’s an exciting time to be a resident of this great city, and I can’t wait to see how the gospel will transform lives here.”
The evangelism training in Nakuru has had a profound impact on the participants, equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and passion to effectively spread the message of Christ. With the resources provided, the evangelists are better prepared to engage in outreach activities in various settings, including prisons, schools, and the broader community. The partnership between AE Kenya and Shareword Global has laid the groundwork for a more empowered and effective evangelistic movement in Nakuru, and the excitement among the pastors and participants promises a bright future for the mission in the region.
