Authentic Leadership Training by Equip Leadership Canada in Nairobi.

The Authentic Leadership seminar took place in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 27th to 30th, 2024, bringing together 30 leaders from 12 African nations: Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, South Africa, Malawi, Ghana, Zambia, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

The training focused on exploring what the “new life in Christ” offers and how it impacts our identity, human needs, motivational gifts, as well as our minds and emotions to profoundly transform our leadership and influence on others. The seminar was hosted by African Enterprise Kenya in partnership with Equip Leadership Canada. This exclusive opportunity aimed to equip leaders with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their leadership roles.

Captain Joel Soti, an Anglican minister and Missions Director at AE Kenya, shared, “Knowing that all my sins are forgiven, I am a son of God, and I am a counselor through the gifts of motivation. I operate under grace and not legalism; the list is endless. The training was revolutionary. Thank you, Equip Leadership Canada, and your excellent facilitators for your submission to God’s use.”

John Garvin, Communications and Centre Manager at AE South Africa, reflected, “What stood out to me is the concept of identity. Even though I can work hard for the Lord, I should not define myself solely as a laborer, nor should I expect others to see themselves that way. Therefore, I need to be careful about guarding my heart.”

John Kalenzi, Team Leader at AE Rwanda, added, “I believe this is the first session where we are encouraged to slow down and reflect on whether what we are doing can be sustained by our relationship with God. That really spoke volumes to me. At times, we are tempted to do more for God.”
